Tour overview
The most well-liked trip we provide is the 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora since it’s ideal for those who don’t have much time but yet like sleeping in tents and riding camels for a short while. Zagora is a rocky type of desert; unlike Erg Chebbi, it doesn’t have large sand dunes. Nevertheless, this 2-day desert tour from Marrakech will give you the chance to have an unforgettable experience by traveling through the high Atlas Mountains, taking in the breathtaking views of the Draa valley, visiting Ait Benhaddou, riding camels, and spending the night in a camp or under the stars.
Tour itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech to Zagora via Ait Benhaddou.
Our experienced drivers will pick you up from your lodging at 7:00 AM for the 2-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Zagora in an air-conditioned 4WD vehicle or minibus. To go to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where many well-known Hollywood films were made, we must first traverse the high Atlas Mountains through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, which offers views of the lush mountain foothills. Those who appreciate the beauty of nature should visit to enjoy the breathtaking view from the tallest hill. After that, we’ll make a pit stop in Ouarzazate, dubbed “Africa’s Hollywood,” to check out Kasbah Taourirt and have lunch there. After that, we’ll go through the 180 km of Draa Valley oasis. Ultimately, in the late afternoon, we will arrive in Zagora, from where we will ride camels to our desert camp for nomads. We’ll take in a delicious lunch and some local music before retiring to our tents for the night.
Day 2: Zagora back to Marrakech.

Amazing desert tour experience
I researched a good deal of tours and reservations before booking with Desert Tours Marocco. From Day 1, Saïd was incredibly communicative and arranged the tour to fit our schedule. I was traveling with a girlfriend (we're both in our 20's) and we felt instantly at ease and comfortable with our guide, Hamid. He picked us up at our riad in Marrakech and we drove the whole day to Zagora, stopping along the way at viewpoints that Hamid knew where we could take pictures or grab snacks. Hamid was incredibly kind and knowledgable as well as a great driver! We arrived in the evening at the start of the desert, where we took 2 camels for about an hour to the desert camp. There, we were greeted by the camp leader who offered us delicious mint tea and showed us to our (luxurious) tent, complete with electricity (there is a separate tent with toilets and showers). We were joined by 3 other groups of travelers and dinner (tagine, fruit and boulettes) was included. The guides and camp leaders then serenaded us with a drum concert and traditional Berber music. We were woken up at 6:30 AM to watch the sunrise in the desert and take in the morning light. We made our way back to Marrakech with Hamid making more stops along the way so we could stretch our legs and grab lunch as well as more pictures! All in all, this was an unforgettable experience. I would unheistatingly recommend Desert Tours Marocco, especially for groups of girls who are looking for trust-worthy and experience guides to discover this beautiful country!! Thank you very much Hamid!

Travelled with my wife to Morocco and requested for a 4 Days 3 Nights package. Said (Tour operator) was super easy and prompt to talk to and arrange our itinerary. We were able to visit the heritage sites as well as experience a night in desert. We were impressed with their services especially their guide, Said (not the same as the tour operator😂). Our guide were accommodating to our needs and was fun to work with. He was knowledgeable and genuine. We also appreciated that they tried to provide local meals such as tajines.
