Tour itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca to Marrakech:

On this day, we will visit Morocco’s fourth biggest city, Marrakech, a Berber city whose name was Amur n Kush, which means “land of God.” There are several things to do and see here that will astound you.

To begin, we will go to Jemaa El Fna Square, where you will be entertained by the natives. Some of them do Halka, a street performance in which they tell tales or tell jokes. It’s also where you’ll find throngs of visitors looking for souvenirs. Second, we will take you to the Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakech’s biggest mosque. It is the Moroccan counterpart of the Hassan Tower Mosque in Rabat and the Great Mosque of Seville in Spain.

Afterwards we’ll go to Jack Majorelle’s stunning garden, which receives over 850,000 visitors every year. We will also go to the Yvan Saint Laurent museum, which is not far from the garden.

Next, we will take you to see the Bahia Palace, a historic Ksar, or fortress. The first day of the eight-day tour concludes with the transfer to your lodging.

Day 2: From Marrakech to the Dades Gorges:

We will begin the day by taking you up from your lodging. If you are interested in oil, particularly for ladies, we will stop at one of the argan oil cooperatives on the route. Afterwards we’ll take the quickest route to the Sahara desert by driving via the high Atlas mountains on the Tichka pass.

The first intriguing object we’ll see on this day is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a Berber castle where numerous films have been filmed. For example, they filmed Lawrence of Arabia and the British-American drama Gladiator. It’s also where the Touareg Berbers used to do their shopping before heading to Europe.

We will visit the city of movie, Ouarzazate, which is not far from the Kasbah. There, we’ll make a visit to the Oscar studio, where they acquire the material for the Kasbah movies. After that, we will travel along the Thousand Kasbahs road to reach the Rose Valley. There, we may drink a sip of tea or coffee and visit one of the cooperatives where rose flower items are made.

Before we check into our hotel in Dades Gorges, we’ll stop to admire and photograph the mountains fashioned like monkey toes. Afterwards we’ll go to the Tissdrine bends, where Cadillac, the American vehicle, did a bizarre commercial.

Day 3: From the Dades Gorges to the Merzouga Sahara:

The third day of our 8-day Morocco trip schedule from Casablanca will take us to the highlight of our Morocco tours, Merzouga. We’ll continue south on the route to Tinghir. Next, we’ll take a detour to see the Grand Canyons of Todgha, where many people come to rest by the river that runs through the mountains like a spring. After that, we’ll come to a halt at an ancient irrigation system, where there are several wells that irrigate the surrounding oasis.

We will arrive at Merzouga, the Sahara desert, in the afternoon. We will take you on a camel ride experience here; they will be waiting for us, and you will leave your belongings in the vehicle while you ride the camels and traverse the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will halt at the summit to view the dunes and the sunset. Then, the camel guy will transport you to a Berber camp where you will spend the night living the nomadic life. The beginnings and the Milkyway at night will wow you. Needless to add, our Berber crew will amuse you with Berber music performed on drums and tell you desert legends.

Day 4: Merzouga desert excursion:

Afterwards we’ll go to Al Bou Inania Madrassa, a historic school with lovely architecture.

We shall not only go to the Safarin Spice Square, but also to its Madrassa. It is also a historic school where pupils are taught the holy Quran. We will conclude our Fes city trip by visiting Chouara, one of Fes’s seventh tanneries. They manufacture and sell leather here. After that, we will take your lodging.

Day 7: Fes to Chefchaouen:

We will continue our 8-day Morocco itinerary by seeing the blue city of Chefchaouen. This city is roughly 3 hours’ drive from Fes and is located in the Rif Mountains, between two large peaks shaped like goat horns. As a result, Chechaouen is derived from the Berber term Iskaouen, which means “horns.” After we arrive, we will go to the Kasbah Museum, Chaouen’s first structure, where we will view numerous images of the city and learn some information about it.

After that, we will have a stroll through the medina to appreciate the blue-colored walls and to Wtat Lhmam Square. Several people visit the eateries to unwind and have tea while listening to music. Amazing desert tour experience

I researched a good deal of tours and reservations before booking with Desert Tours Marocco. From Day 1, Saïd was incredibly communicative and arranged the tour to fit our schedule. I was traveling with a girlfriend (we’re both in our 20’s) and we felt instantly at ease and comfortable with our guide, Hamid. He picked us up at our riad in Marrakech and we drove the whole day to Zagora, stopping along the way at viewpoints that Hamid knew where we could take pictures or grab snacks. Hamid was incredibly kind and knowledgable as well as a great driver! We arrived in the evening at the start of the desert, where we took 2 camels for about an hour to the desert camp. There, we were greeted by the camp leader who offered us delicious mint tea and showed us to our (luxurious) tent, complete with electricity (there is a separate tent with toilets and showers). We were joined by 3 other groups of travelers and dinner (tagine, fruit and boulettes) was included. The guides and camp leaders then serenaded us with a drum concert and traditional Berber music. We were woken up at 6:30 AM to watch the sunrise in the desert and take in the morning light. We made our way back to Marrakech with Hamid making more stops along the way so we could stretch our legs and grab lunch as well as more pictures! All in all, this was an unforgettable experience. I would unheistatingly recommend Desert Tours Marocco, especially for groups of girls who are looking for trust-worthy and experience guides to discover this beautiful country!! Thank you very much Hamid!

4d3n Morocco

Travelled with my wife to Morocco and requested for a 4 Days 3 Nights package. Said (Tour operator) was super easy and prompt to talk to and arrange our itinerary. We were able to visit the heritage sites as well as experience a night in desert. We were impressed with their services especially their guide, Said (not the same as the tour operator😂). Our guide were accommodating to our needs and was fun to work with. He was knowledgeable and genuine. We also appreciated that they tried to provide local meals such as tajines.
